- Secures 791 MW in solar and wind capacity from four new Invenergy deals.
- Adds 360 MW of solar power in Texas through an Adapture Renewables partnership.
On June 26, 2025, Meta Platforms announced new agreements with Invenergy for 791 MW of renewable energy capacity to sustainably power its AI data centers. These deals extend the collaboration between Meta and Invenergy to a total of 1,800 MW. Additionally, on June 25, 2025, Meta revealed two Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreements (EAPAs) with Adapture Renewables, adding 360 MW of solar power in Texas. With these initiatives, Meta is supporting the growing energy demand for its data centers and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads while advancing its sustainability goals.
According to Business Wire on June 26, the Invenergy agreements cover four projects in Ohio, Arkansas, and Texas, which are expected to become operational between 2027 and 2028. Specific project details include:
- Yellow Wood Solar Energy Center, Ohio: 300 MW (2027)
- Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center, Ohio: 140 MW (2027)
- Decoy Solar Energy Center, Arkansas: 155 MW (2027)
- Seaway Wind Energy Center, Texas: 196 MW (2028)
The facilities will deliver the generated energy to local electricity grids, and in return, Meta receives renewable energy credits to reduce its carbon footprint. These agreements demonstrate Meta's commitment to using clean energy to decarbonize its operations, particularly its energy-intensive AI services.
Meta’s partnership with Adapture Renewables also highlights its strategy to secure sustainable energy sources. The companies announced the latest EAPAs on June 25, which add 360 MW of solar capacity from two Texas projects set to connect to the ERCOT grid by 2027. Since 2023, the partners have delivered nearly 700 MW across five projects in three states. The EAPA structure allows Meta to benefit from the projects' environmental attributes while the electricity supports local energy grids.
These deals underscore Meta's proactive approach to meeting the increasing power demands of AI while adhering to its sustainability commitments. By integrating clean energy solutions into its infrastructure, Meta reinforces its role as a leader in corporate decarbonization.
