According to Bitget, Thompson alleges breach of contract and claims the company failed to pay quarterly compensation in WMTX tokens as promised, and he further contends that World Mobile continued to use his image after the deal’s termination, citing unauthorized use of likeness. According to the same Bitget report, World Mobile stated that it ended the partnership because Thompson allegedly failed to return excess tokens and sold some of the tokens transferred to him. As a result, the dispute highlights ongoing challenges in partnerships between celebrities and crypto projects, where volatile token values and contractual disagreements can arise. Bitget also noted that WMTX, the token at the center of the deal, is trading about 95% below its all-time high.
