- Address surge fueled by launchpad mechanics, not organic investor growth - Capital inflows into tokenized equities lag behind rapid holder address increase On 2026-09-14, Blockworks reported that the number of tokenized stock holder addresses on Solana surged from around 425,000 to over 800,000 in less than two weeks. This 88% increase came mainly from new mechanics on launchpad platforms such as Pump.fun and StockFun, which allowed memecoin creators to pair their tokens with tokenized equities like Nvidia and the S&P 500, and then distribute trading fees back to holders in the form of tokenized stock. However, the address surge reflected wallet distribution generated by these launchpad mechanics, not organic broker-like adoption or genuine end-investor activity. Automated fee payouts counted every wallet receiving even minimal amounts as a “holder,” which inflated conventional adoption metrics, and, in many cases, a single user operating multiple wallets artificially increased the holder count. As a result, the figure measured distribution rather than unique user growth. Meanwhile, Blockworks noted that actual capital inflow into tokenized equities on Solana rose at a much slower rate. Tokenized stock supply increased 47% over roughly three weeks to reach $684 million, with the average balance per “holder” at just $850, which indicates that speculative flows and launchpad mechanics drove the spike rather than substantial new brokerage-style investment from end users. During this period, Solana also recorded real onchain equity listings. Nike went live as a tokenized stock on September 8, 2026, and Galaxy Digital tokenized its own shares on September 3, 2026. However, memecoin-focused launchpad platforms that leveraged fee and pairing incentives remained the primary factor behind the rapid uptick in tokenized stock holders, rather than a genuine surge of end-user equity investors. According to Blockworks on 2026-09-14, Solana (SOL) trades at $101.56, up 0.26% in 24-hour volume, while Pump.fun (PUMP) is at $0.004, down 3.58% on the day.
