- Circle's USDC on World project to enhance cross-chain transfers, market reliability. - Strategic move for faster, cost-effective digital dollar transfers, bolstering global accessibility. On June 11, 2025, The Block reported that Circle launched its USDC stablecoin on OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's World crypto project. This launch aims to revolutionize cross-chain transactions by leveraging Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2, which facilitates faster, cost-effective cross-chain transfers and significantly improves user experience. According to The Block on June 11, the integration intends to enhance cross-chain transfers, as Circle’s CCTP V2 is now live on World’s blockchain. This protocol aims to make transferring USDC across supported chains more efficient, a development that will benefit developers, businesses, and consumers by making it easier to move funds and leverage decentralized finance (DeFi) composability. This initiative significantly impacts the market by upgrading services for existing users. For instance, World noted that it transitioned the holdings of nearly 2 million users who previously held bridged USDC in their World App wallets; they now possess native USDC issued directly by Circle. This native USDC is fully backed by highly liquid cash and cash-equivalent assets, which enhances transfer reliability and stability. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the World Network and expand access to USDC, particularly in economies that benefit from a fully-reserved digital dollar. As a result, over 25 million World Chain users will gain the ability to use this regulated digital dollar for quick, seamless transfers. In addition, Circle Mint will provide eligible businesses on the World Chain with access to institutional on/off-ramps, while developers can directly integrate USDC into World App Mini Apps, thereby broadening the stablecoin's utility and accessibility. As of 15:09 UTC on June 11, USDC (USDC) was trading at $1, reflecting a 0.013% change. According to CoinMarketCap on June 11, Worldcoin (WLD) was trading at $1.207, showing a 5.547% change.
