On June 12, 2025, The Block reported that Shopify, Coinbase, and Stripe have partnered to streamline stablecoin payments for Shopify merchants using Circle's USDC. This new integration, available in 34 countries, simplifies these transactions.
Shoppers can use USDC on Base with their preferred crypto wallet, while Stripe facilitates these transactions by converting the stablecoin payments into local currency deposits for merchants. Stripe then deposits the funds into the merchants' bank accounts.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote the use of stablecoins in real-world commerce. Additionally, Coinbase is launching the Commerce Payments Protocol with Shopify to improve the handling of commercial cryptocurrency purchases.
According to CoinMarketCap on June 12, at 22:09 UTC, USDC (USDC) trades at $1, and its 24-hour trading volume shows a 0.004% change.
