Cosmos Ecosystem Hit as Leap Wallet, Intergaze Shut Down
Paul

- Key platforms Leap Wallet and Intergaze announce shutdowns.
- Cosmos (ATOM) token shows resilience, rising 3% amid challenges.
Cosmos’ Leap Wallet and NFT platform Intergaze have announced imminent closures, a development that signals challenges for the ecosystem amid shifting crypto trends. On April 4, 2026, Cryptopolitan reported that Leap Wallet, a non-custodial wallet provider, will cease all services by May 28, 2026. The Leap Wallet team attributed this decision to a "deep sense of responsibility" toward users and the broader ecosystem, urging customers to migrate their assets to compatible alternatives. This closure will also impact subsidiary services, including Compass Wallet, Leap WebApp, Swapfast, the Leap Cosmos Hub validator, and Leap Cosmos Snaps.
In a related development, Intergaze, an NFT marketplace within the Initia ecosystem, announced plans to wind down its rollup platform. The project cited an unsustainable "overhead-to-revenue ratio" as the primary reason for its termination, giving users a 14-day period to transfer their assets. The platform's NFTs will migrate to Stargaze on the Cosmos Hub later in May.
Despite these significant challenges, the Cosmos (ATOM) token showed unexpected market resilience, with its price rising by more than 3% immediately following the announcements. This increase indicates potential investor confidence in the ecosystem’s ability to endure. However, the gains were not sustained, as the latest market data on April 4 at 05:08 UTC shows Cosmos (ATOM) trading at $1.697, reflecting a 0.734% decrease over the past 24 hours.
